About Dr Jamie Lecky DVM

Dr. Jamie Lecky is a dedicated small animal veterinarian with specialized interests in preventive care, senior wellness, pain management, and emergency medicine. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2007, followed by her Doctor of veterinary medicine from Atlantic Veterinary College at University of Prince Edward Island in 2011.

Beginning her career in mixed animal practice in rural Alberta, she soon focused exclusively on small animals, particularly in the realm of emergency medicine. Over her career, Dr. Lecky has recognized the increasing demands on veterinary emergency rooms and the vital need for accessible pet care. This realization sparked her passion for telemedicine, enabling her to offer crucial support and guidance to pet owners who may struggle to access in-person care. Whether diagnosing ailments virtually or triaging urgent cases, Dr. Lecky is committed to ensuring that all pets, regardless of geographical location or limited veterinary access, have the opportunity to receive veterinary care.

Dr. Lecky loves all animals, big and small, but has a particular affinity for dogs (with a soft spot for Great Danes) and horses. She has also adopted two potcake dogs from her volunteer trips to the Turks and Caicos, where she strives to make a positive impact on local animal welfare. Currently, she splits her time between Canada and Florida.
